How to Find Out If You Have a Drinking Problem?

Before I joined an Alcohol Detox program, I was completely oblivious to any problems I had when I was drinking. As a matter of fact, my old joke was the cliche – “I don’t have a drinking problem, I drink, I fall down, no problem!”
So, I think the first thing you must do is determine whether you really have a problem

Here are ten questions you can ask yourself.

1. Do you talk a lot about drinking?

2. Do you drink more than you used to?

3. Do you gulp your drinks?

4. Do you often take a drink to feel better?

5. Do you drink alone?

6. Have you ever forgotten what you did while you were drinking?

7. Do you keep a bottle hidden somewhere for quick pick-me-ups?

8. Do you sometimes start drinking without really thinking about it?

9. Do you need a drink to have fun?

10. Do you ever take a drink in the morning to relieve a hangover?

Congratulations!

If you answered yes to 4 or more of these questions, then you are one of millions of people worldwide that have a drinking problem….

You must also look at the effect your drinking is having on other people. You must ask yourself – has anyone ever been hurt as a result of your drinking? How concerned are other people about your drinking?

If you think you have a drinking problem you should immediately contact a doctor. He can give you advice on what is your next step. You always to yourself and to the people around you to seek as much help as you possibly can.
