Worried About a Heart Murmur? It May Not Be a Big Deal
Just because you have a heart murmur does not mean it is so awfully terrible. Sure, you need to contact your doctor and have them check it out, and make sure it is okay. But, there is a very good chance that it is really no big deal, I’ve had one since I was a kid and I ran track in College at the very top tier. In fact, even with a heart murmur, I seem to be healthier than most anyone I’ve ever met, I have not been to a doctor in over 20-years.
So, whereas, I am not a doctor and you might have a different issue, I wouldn’t worry at all, but you should ask your doctor about this and get his advice on your diet recommendations. Symptoms of Heart Disease – Let Us Talk About Vasovagal Fainting and Dizziness
Vasovagal fainting (neurocardiogenic syncope) is believed to be the most common type of syncope. It is estimated that 3 percent of emergency room visits in the United States are for this type of fainting. Vasovagal technically refers to the effect the vagus nerve has on the blood vessels, but in a broader sense it refers to the effects various nerves have on the heart and blood vessels.
The two types of nerves that affect the heart and blood vessels are called sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves (like the vagus nerve). If these nerves are too sensitive, they can cause episodes of low blood pressure or slow heart rate or both. This may temporarily starve the brain of blood. One test used to determine if a vasovagal reaction is the cause of fainting is called the tilt-table test.
