Alcohol Detox For the Social Drinker

Is it time to take a break from drinking alcohol? Have you been going over the top with the alcohol consumption lately? You should be able to tell by listening to your body. How do you feel? Do you have aches and pains beyond the normal? Do you feel tired and listless? Maybe a detox from alcohol is for you.

Life is like that sometimes. The parties all seem to come at once. First the Jane’s wedding, then Tom’s christening, then your best mates big birthday bash. It is very easy to lose track of yourself and drink way too much over a few weeks. But it can have negative consequences in the long run.

The facts about long term alcohol abuse are everywhere. Liver damage, heart disease, etc, etc… It is very easy to go from one night a week, to two nights. From a couple of really good sessions to a few beers in front of the TV. A couple of beers for the game to hide and go seek with the whiskey bottle. Once you are there, the risks to every part of your life are massive.

So, you’ve been out to one too many parties lately and you’re feeling the worst for wear. This is where you want to detox from alcohol.

It’s easy for you if you are only a light drinker who just had a bit too much lately. You just stop drinking. It allows your body to flush all the harmful toxins that have been making you feel a little crappy. I would normally go off the booze for a month. You can still go out if you want. Be the designated driver. You will get a great insight into what a drunk person really looks like…interesting huh!

If you are becoming addicted to alcohol, here is where you will find out. You may crave a drink. You may be getting the shakes or the sweats. If you are getting any unusual symptoms at all when you stop, you need to seriously reconsider your drinking, because more than not, these are the first signs of a problem.

The good news is that you have discovered the problem before it is too late. You can do something about it. Take these breaks away from alcohol every so often, allowing your body to tell you when. You will feel much better in the long run. And you will avoid the disease that has killed billions. This disease that we call alcoholism, as we speak is ruining millions of lives. To your best health.
